Sharks Tooth at Wild Heron
Situated in the heart of the Wild Heron community, which extends across Northwest Florida’s Walton and Bay counties, is the Shark’s Tooth Golf Club. Wild Heron is a 734-acre coastal preserve that’s truly a pristine natural haven for the region’s various marine and plant life and Shark’s Tooth has been built with the community’s preservation mandate in mind. If you wish to live in heavily wooded surroundings, under the shade of long leaf pines and ancient oaks, with a clear view of a placid lake, then you’ll feel right at home in Shark’s Tooth.
Shark’s Tooth defining feature is its Greg Norman-designed 18-hole championship golf course that Golf Digest has named one of the best courses in Florida and Golf Magazine Living has ranked among the “25 Best Courses You Can Live On” in the country. It is an Audubon International Silver Signature Sanctuary, and there are less than 40 other courses around the world that hold this distinction.
The golf club also has a 10-acre practice facility, a 21,000-square-foot clubhouse, and a private beach club. There are four lighted Har-Tru tennis courts, several dining options, a golf pro shop, and a turf care center, among many other things. The lakeside tennis courts are near the community pool and you’ll also find picnic verandas with built-in grills and numerous boardwalk trails beside the lake. For boating and other water activities, head on over to the Boathouse at Prospect Point to enjoy an afternoon of thrilling canoe and kayak activities.
Shark’s Tooth is nestled between towering coastal dunes that have long attracted people to visit the Northwest Florida coastline. Waterfront properties that sit by Lake Powell are one of the most popular choices in the community. The Reserve at Wild Heron offers the last available homesites and are ideal for those looking for seclusion and gorgeous views of the wetlands, the lake and the course.
